The Bacurinha emerged in the 90s, having a smaller size than the Repinique. Initially designed to follow the Timbal in the Axés and the Timbalada. Three .nki rhythms files with 3 different tempos and more than 180 loops, along with Single Hits and FX.

The Instrument
Instruments such as the Ocean Drum deliver a soothing texture that convincingly simulates the sound of ocean waves. The Trovador, also known as tambor de mola, produces dramatic effects reminiscent of thunder and wind.
A pair of bottle caps — in Portuguese, molho de tampinhas — creates a distinctive texture similar to rain striking hard surfaces. Likewise, a bunch of keys (molho de chaves), a completely handmade instrument, generates a unique and organic percussive effect.
A beaded necklace produces a brighter, more crystalline sound, while a conduit — typically a protective duct for electrical cables — can be repurposed as a musical instrument, delivering an unusual wind-like timbre.
Finally, the Flex-a-tone, widely used in cartoons and animated productions, adds its unmistakable gliding, pitch-bending character to the collection.
Performance
In this session we have a performance of the percussion master Robson Batata.
Gear
The session was recorded using a matched pair of Neumann KM 184 microphones alongside an AKG C414.
The preamplification stage comprised a pair of Chandler GERM 500 Mk II units and a Millennia HV-35. For additional tonal character and dynamic control, a Shadow Hills Dual Vandergraph Compressor was applied to the C414 signal, set to approximately –1 dB of gain reduction for subtle coloration.
All signals were routed through an Apogee Ensemble Mk II interface.

The new GUI comes with a better level meters on each microphone, in addition to a wider waveform display, making loops easier to view and making the assembly of grooves simpler. Also, a text parameters on each Knob and a Standard format display of effects in all new UI’s (V4).
